Te Whetū Rehua is a framework designed to help play, active recreation and sport providers create or adapt activities that are culturally responsive to Māori. 

The framework is built around 5 key values that are important for Māori cultural and social development. 

Developed in partnership with Māori community sport and recreation providers, Te Whetū Rehua supports Māori to participate in a way that is authentic to Māori. It recognises that a strong and secure cultural identity is essential for wellbeing, as it enables access to wider society.
